Race control : the assistant strategist

Race control mode, is a section that will assist you in the strategic management of a relay race.

“Race control” takes up the architecture of the “Laps report” section with a certain number of widgets at the head which are essential indicators for the strategic monitoring of your race.

Each window is independent, may or may not be displayed.

« Configuration Race Control »

Before the race, you define your main strategic lines during a briefing., then you configure Race Control in 5 steps.

Step 1: « configuration »

Here we provide the duration of the test, the date and time of his departure.

2nd step: “Pilots”

In this section we select the drivers who will take part in the race and define the cumulative driving time for each of them..

In the case of sharing the race time of equal duration, a button allows the pre-filling of the fields.

Step 3: « PIT »

Each race has these specificities and its batch of pit stops, obligatory or not..

Here you can configure the “Pit”

  • by giving them a specific name (Loop, technic, refuel….)
  • by indicating their duration if necessary, the window in which they must be carried out or even set up an alert so as not to miss the window.
  • you can also program to be alerted X minute before a driver change.

Step 4: “Consumption”

We were keen to develop a tool that will allow you to make the most precise projection possible of consumption in real time. :

A certain number of parameters must be entered:

  • tank capacity
  • starting level
  • reserve level
  • consumption per lap
  • average lap time
  • consumption rates according to track conditions signified by ITS (sector yellow, safety car, ….)

You will also be able to configure consumption maps and assign them to its drivers. This will allow the consumption value to be changed at any time (each relay or even at the heart of a relay…)

Step 5: « Strategy »

To finish in this final part you will draw the progress of the relay race by relay.

Each relay has its own driver, its duration, his pit with or without refueling

Once only one relay is entered, we can start the race.

The “Startégie” section of the “race control configuration” panel is indeed, unlike other sections, accessible at any time and modifiable.

Once Race control is configured, all that remains is to launch and follow the race…

Everyone is free to choose their method. Manual entry of sectors and lap is possible, but we will of course get the best out of Race control by associating it with ITS Monitoring which will provide live information on the runsheet

Since then, sous ITS, RPM detects the “Pit in” information and opens a pop-up which announces what we plan to do when visiting the pit.

  • If we follow the roadmap, nothing to do, RPM will detect the “Pit out” and apply what was programmed.
  • If we decide to modify an element of the strategy we choose “Modify”

In manual mode, it is advisable to trigger the Box only in the last lap, the pop up is displayed in the same way and will however apply to the recording of the next round…

Consumption monitoring is an essential element of consumption, this is why we can manage them at any time by configuring them by modifying the consumption map or by using the information collected on the dashboard by the pilot.

Each modification will be applicable from the moment T or since the last refueling…

There is no doubt that “Race control” will appeal to many users, and we remain at their disposal to support them in discovering this strategic management tool..
